Jazz For Seniors Workshop Thursday 22nd September 2011
Content of the Senior Workshop
During the session (from 4pm) you will learn and play alongside the tutor's. You will learn the history of jazz through listening and playing jazz, you will learn the role of your particular instrument through listening and playing, you will also learn how to perform in a band (this will help even if you play Rock or other music since the 'band' was first invented and grew from jazz), and you will learn to improvise and perform on a few jazz tunes in order to play at the Thursday evening performance. The session will involve being entertained and learning through both listening and participating. It is your choice to perform in the evening as this is not compulsory but we hope you will take the courage to perform alongside famous musicians on stage in front of an appreciative audience!
